Two-component, fast-setting, hybrid fiber-reinforced mortar for repairing horizontal and sloped asphalt surfaces.
SikaEmaco® T 1600 is a two-component, fast-setting and rapid-hardening hybrid mortar for repairing asphalt pavements.
Component A (powder component) contains selected cements, accelerating hydraulic binders, sands with optimized grading, microfibers, and special additives that ensure rapid strength gain, improved durability, and low drying shrinkage.
After mixing with Component B (polymer liquid), a mortar with a fluid consistency is obtained, which can be easily poured and spread.
The SikaEmaco® T 1600 mortar can be applied in layers from 5 mm to 100 mm thick; and, after adding clean gravel, up to 200 mm.
Applications of SikaEmaco® T 1600:
- localized repairs of asphalt pavements,
- fixing of street furniture elements to asphalt pavements,
- making connections between asphalt and concrete pavements,
- use wherever very short downtime / out-of-service periods are required.
- Note: For repairs of concrete pavements, the use of SikaEmaco® T 1100 TIX, SikaEmaco® T 1200 PG and SikaEmaco® T 1400 FR materials is recommended.
Approximate consumption: To prepare 1 m3 of fresh mortar, approx. 2000 kg of SikaEmaco® T 1600 is required (1700 kg of Component A and 300 kg of Component B).
One set of 23.85 kg (20 kg paper bag + 3.85 kg canister) yields approx. 12 l of mortar.
Delivery: 3–5 business days.

Very rapid strength gain - return to service after approx. 1 hour (at +23°C)

Easy application - the fluid consistency facilitates application, while still being thixotropic enough to allow application on slopes

After adding gravel - application in thicker layers is possible - up to 200 mm
Key properties:
Application and execution conditions
- fluid consistency facilitating application,
while still thixotropic enough to allow application on slopes, - after adding gravel
application in layers up to 200 mm thick is possible, - can be used
at temperatures from +1°C
Strength and crack reduction
- rapid strength gain
return to service after approx. 1 hour (at +23°C), - high flexural strength
thanks to fiber reinforcement and polymer modification, - low shrinkage,
- minimized susceptibility to cracking
Durability and service resistances
- excellent adhesion
to asphalt and concrete, - resistance to freeze/thaw cycles
and de-icing salts, - very good slip resistance
also in wet conditions
Structural protection and compliance
- CE marking in accordance with EN 1504-3
R2-class cement mortar for non-structural repair of concrete in buildings and civil engineering works, compliant with EN 1504-3:2005, with a declaration of performance based on a factory production control conformity certificate issued by a notified body certifying factory production control, bearing the CE mark
