Anti-corrosion rust primer 769

Rust-Oleum 769 red and 780 gray anti-corrosive primers are alkyd primers based on fish oil. Their special formula allows 769 anti-corrosive primers to be applied to damp and corroded surfaces—directly onto rust. Thanks to fish oils, the primer penetrates rusted metal, displaces moisture and trapped air, preventing corrosion. A
proven formula since 1921!

Unique fish oil-based technology allows 769 rust primers to penetrate deep into rusted metal and release moisture and air from it.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Scottish captain Robert Fergusson noticed that the rusty deck of his ship had stopped corroding in places where fish oil had been spilled. This discovery inspired him to develop the first anti-corrosive paint based on fish oil. In 1921, after 769 attempts, he perfected an anti-corrosive primer that prevented rusting and was able to dry overnight without leaving any unpleasant odor. This is how Rust-Oleum was born.
