Can CV G136 floor paint be used on outdoor concrete floors?

G136 floor paint has good resistance to outdoor conditions (temperature changes, UV rays) and can be used outdoors on concrete substrates. However, this paint must be used on concrete that is insulated, dry before application, and not exposed to prolonged water stagnation. The paint should not be applied to uninsulated mineral substrates. The product is not resistant to moisture in the substrate, including capillary action.

G136 floor paint does not cut off moisture from the substrate. Moisture in the form of vapor can cause the paint coating to detach from the concrete. Therefore, G136 paint can only be applied to concrete with a moisture content of less than 5%. Concrete must be insulated from below so that it is not exposed to capillary action. Concrete should not be exposed to prolonged water stagnation. Standing water can migrate through the G136 coating and cause it to detach.

Most outdoor concrete floors are highly exposed to moisture. In such cases, G136 single-component paint is not a good solution. For concrete that is more exposed to moisture, we recommend using the following system: 1 x Dampshield moisture barrier primer + 2 x P101 polyurethane topcoat.
