Multiprim is a primer for smooth substrates. It has very good adhesion to many substrates, such as glass, aluminum, PVC, PVDF, zinc, copper (both new and old patinated, oxidized), stainless steel, lead, brick, ceramic tiles, etc.
Skylights are often made of polycarbonate. There are many types of polycarbonate. The adhesion of Multiprim to polycarbonate depends on the quality of this material. Therefore, for applications on polycarbonate, we recommend:
1. Lightly sand the surface.
2. Thoroughly clean the skylight.
3. Perform a test application on a single skylight before proceeding with work on the entire roof.
Generally, after light sanding, adhesion should be very good. However, to be sure, we suggest painting one skylight. Wait a week for the paint to achieve full adhesion. And after a week, perform an adhesion test using a cross-cut.
