Glow-in-the-dark paint, at night Coo-Var

Coo-Var luminescent paint glows in the dark after prior exposure to light. The luminescent finish is designed for places and objects that must always be visible regardless of conditions, such as exits and escape routes. The luminescent effect is visible in dark surroundings, preferably in the dark, at night. Objects are clearly visible both outdoors and indoors.

Coo-Var glow-in-the-dark paint is suitable for use on wood, metal, masonry, brick, fiberglass, and many other surfaces with the use of a suitable primer. It is most commonly used for door identification, health and safety markings, as well as for theatrical, decorative, and artistic effects.

Application:

Coo-Var glow-in-the-dark paint has a delicate aqua-white color, characteristic of luminescent products. In order to ensure maximum visibility of the coating, it is recommended to apply a minimum of 2-3 coats of Coo-Var glow-in-the-dark paint to a white substrate. The product does not provide full coverage with a single coat. We suggest painting the first coat horizontally, the second vertically, and then the third horizontally again. Careful and even application of each coat will result in an even coating.

For best results, we suggest using a good quality white primer for Coo-Var glow-in-the-dark paint. In addition, to increase the coating's resistance to abrasion and UV rays, we suggest applying a protective varnish over Coo-Var glow-in-the-dark paint.

Frequently asked questions:

1. What is luminescent paint?

It is a special paint containing phosphorescent pigments that absorb light and emit it in the dark, allowing the surface to glow after being exposed to light.

2. How does luminescent paint work?

It works on the principle of phosphorescence. The pigments absorb energy from light (sunlight or artificial light) and then slowly release it as visible light in the dark after the light source suddenly goes out.

3. How long does the paint glow after exposure to light?

The glow lasts for several hours, with the intensity of the light gradually decreasing. The duration depends on the amount of light absorbed.

4. What is luminescent paint used for?

  • Evacuation and safety signs
  • Decorations and murals
  • Events and stage design
  • Watches, gauges, dials

5. How to apply luminescent paint?

  • Clean and prime the surface
  • Apply with a brush or roller (several coats recommended)
  • Allow drying time between coats as instructed

6. Do I need a special primer?

Yes. A white primer is recommended for Coo-Var glow-in-the-dark paint, as it enhances the glow effect by reflecting more light towards the pigments.

7. How long does the paint retain its glow properties?

Over time, the effect may fade due to weather conditions. To protect the paint outdoors, we recommend using a protective varnish on Coo-Var luminescent paint.

8. Is luminescent paint safe?

Yes. Coo-Var luminescent paint is water-based, non-toxic, and has a low VOC content. However, adequate ventilation and protection should be used during application.

9. How do you "charge" the paint to make it glow?

Simply expose the painted surface to light (natural or artificial) for a few hours.

10. Can luminescent paint be removed?

Yes. The paint can be removed with paint removers, sanding, or mechanical methods.
