The high-quality, special Mordant Solution is an easy-to-use, non-flammable, and virtually odorless etching solution. The product is designed for etching fresh zinc, which neutralizes salt and "white rust" deposits.
Note: The product is designed to prepare the substrate before painting. It cleans and etches the substrate. It allows subsequent coats of paint to be applied. However, the product may change the appearance of the zinc, matting it or even turning it black. If you are interested in renovating old zinc, we suggest using Galva Plus spray.
How to use Mordant Solution: Thoroughly remove all grease, oil, dirt, and other surface contaminants. After properly preparing
the substrate, rub the product into the surface with a brush, sponge, or scrub brush. Do not spray. Wear protective gloves. Rinse the surface with plenty of clean water within two to ten minutes after application. Note: Do not allow Mordant Solution to dry before rinsing! The final step after rinsing with water is to allow the steel to dry completely.
